Mourning Rt. Revd. Paul Weiland
The Austrian Bible Society mourns the sudden and unexpected death of our Board Chairman, Rt. Revd. Paul Weiland. He died, 16th of August at the age of 65 in his dioceses of St. Poelten.
Paul Weiland has served the Austrian Bible Society since 1998 as Board Chairman. He supported and shaped the work of distributing the Bible in many ways. For example, he had a great part in the preparations and realisation of the Bible Centre at the MQ that opened in 2005. It was always his desire to make the Bible Society known and to find new ways to distribute the Bible, so that the message of the Bible will speak into the reality of people’s lives.
For Weiland the Bible was a “book for life” and “indispensable for humans and their life together.” Paul Weiland once wrote: "The Bible unites my limited experiences of this world with the unlimited experiences of faith and therefore helps me to a blessed life - here and in eternity."
The board members and staff of the Bible Society mourn the death of Paul Weiland together with his family and friends. We are forever thankful for his blessed and lasting service for the Bible Society
